Upon my first return visit to Australia in the summer of 2021-22, I arrived feeling very worse for wear. I had the most horrendous flight from London, economy seat and turbulence all the way so I had practically no sleep. Added to the fact, much of the world was still in lockdown from the Covid pandemic so depsite me booking an 8 hour layover in Singapore, I wasn't allow outside our quarantine zone at Changi Airport. 

I remember, I was fortunate enough to get back to Australia as the government was only allowing citizens back in at the time. 

Unfortunately my arrival wasn't timed particularly well either, as I landed at about midday on NYE in the peak summer season. And of course, that evening, I was subjected to all the loud noises going on outside from the 9pm and midnight fireworks. Still, I had lovely hot bath and caught up on some sleep. I stayed there 2 nights which cost just shy of AU$1000.
