Big Backpackers Hostel
Elizabeth St, Sydney
I discovered these murals on the walls in the stairwell at this hostel. AMAZING!
Cheap and Cheerful
As a solo traveller, hotels can get very expensive and journeys can be quite lonely at times.
As such, I've stayed in a number of hostels during my travels, which cater mainly to international backpackers. These days, I do prefer the privacy of my own room and bathroom but the communal areas are quite entertaining as you often get to meet people from all over the world, no matter what city you're in.
Of all the backpacker hostels I've stayed in, this one in Sydney's CBD is one of the best. The room is basic but it was very comfortable and the cost was something like AU$300 for the entire week. The room had a double bed, air conditioning and their WiFi was probably the best I've ever experienced, compared to even some 5 star establishments, with over 600Mbps download speeds and upwards of 100Mbps....pretty amazing for a backpackers don't you think?
